Watch Arnold Schwarzenegger Share Coronavirus Health Tips — With Help From His Pets

Arnold Schwarzenegger, aka The Terminator, is back – and this time with an important health message. And the actor, ex-politician, and animal lover is using his pets to help fans stay safe, healthy, and keep the coronavirus at bay.

“The important thing is that you stay at home, because there’s a curfew now,” said Schwarzenegger in a Facebook video filmed shortly after California governor Gavin Newsom asked anyone over age 65 and/or suffering from underlying health conditions to stay at home for their own safety.

“No one is allowed out,” said the California resident. “Especially someone who is, like, 72 years old. After you are 65, you are not allowed out of the house anymore in California. So we stay home and we eat here.”

But staying at home doesn’t have to be boring. At least, that seems to be the underlying message of this cute public safety video, in which Schwarzenegger is clearly having a blast feeding carrots to his miniature horse and donkey, Whiskey and Lulu.

“No more restaurants, forget all that,” said the former governor. “Public gatherings, restaurants, gymnasiums are out the window. We stay home.” Meanwhile, Lulu and Whiskey happily play, pose, and jostle for carrots, reiterating their dad’s message that self-isolation isn’t that bad.

Countries are scrambling to respond to this new pandemic, which has (at time of writing) affected people on every continent outside of Antarctica. Because the virus can be transmitted by people who aren’t showing symptoms, governors from many U.S. states have temporarily closed or restricted schools, offices, gyms, bars, restaurants, sporting events, and other public events in an effort to curb the disease.

“We don’t do anything like that anymore here,” says Schwarzenegger of his homebody routine, which involves avoiding bars, restaurants, the gym, and other places where people gather. “We just eat with Whiskey and with Lulu, we have a good time, we get entertained,” he said. “So much more fun.”

This isn’t the Schwarzenegger’s first attempt to spread the word about coronavirus best practices. The actor’s Facebook page also features a hilarious and adorable hand-washing tutorial starring his rescue dog, Cherry.

“I wash my hands a minimum of 50 times a day,” Schwarzenegger said in that video. “I wash my hands over and over and over again to be safe myself and for everyone else.”

The fitness buff is also planning to reveal a home workout plan so that people can exercise “while we are all being responsible during this pandemic,” according to a recent post on Reddit. There’s no word yet on whether Whiskey, Lulu, and/or Cherry will participate.
