Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldog
Originating in Georgia and getting his name from the Alapaha River area, the Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldog may not be a breed you are familiar with. This breed is not as well known as some other breeds, but is equally as wonderful. Originally used to guard livestock and property, the Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldogs are protective and loyal dogs.
Their coats come in a wide array of colors, ranging from bluish gray to tan to black. The Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldog stands approximately 20 to 25 inches in height at the shoulder and weighs between 55 to 90 pounds.
Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldogs are very protective of their families and do not immediately take to strangers. However, with the proper training, they can be kept in line and learn to appreciate others outside the family. These dogs, in addition to being trained as pups, should get a good amount of daily exercise at all ages. With their muscular frame, it should be no wonder that they need a good workout on a daily basis in order to stay fit and happy. Due to their average size, a home, as opposed to apartment living, with a good-sized yard will provide the Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldog with adequate romping space.
Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldogs are also quite playful. They love to play outdoors with their owner and have a great time getting exercise and companionship all at the same time.
The Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldog has a short coat, so grooming this breed is quite easy overall. All it takes is an occasional brushing and the Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldog will look well groomed and have a well-maintained healthy coat.
If you are looking to add a larger-sized dog to your family and are able to give this dog a good amount of exercise, the Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldog will be a great companion for you and your family.
