Rescue Pit Bull Who Loves To Cuddle Has Been Waiting Over 700 Days For Someone To Adopt Him

If patience is a virtue, then Drool is the most virtuous rescue dog in Monte Vista, Colorado.

The 4-year-old pit bull mix have been patiently waiting at Conour Animal Shelter for over 720 days for the perfect family.

The sweet boy needs to be an only pet since “he’s had bad experiences with other dogs so he’s always on the defense,” wrote the shelter staff.

He’s a bit cautious at first when meeting new people. but does well with children and adults once he has time to get to know them. The shelter is requiring several meets and greets to anyone interested in adopting him to make sure it’s a good match for all.

Kacey Widetich, who works with Relay For Rescue, is making sure Drool feels loved while he waits by spoiling him with treats, warm baths, and sleepovers. Recently, she spent the night at the shelter with Drools. She slept on a cot and Drools laid right on top of her and snuggled all night.

“We slept like this all night long. Drools is SUCH a love bug and just need to find his perfect match,” Widetich wrote alongside a picture of the adorable dog snuggling with her.

She posted that she has moved into the shelter and will stay with Drools until he finds his forever home. The shelters does not have many walk-in visitors due to its rural location. Widetich hopes by becoming Drools’ roommate and posting photos and videos of him someone will adopt him.

Drools knows basic commands and is a complete gentleman. He just wants a family of his own and a place to call home.

While many people have offered to meet or adopt Drools, most have other pets or live out of state. He’s still available for adoption, at the time of writing.

Thank you all so much for the outpouring of support for Drool's!! We greatly appreciate it. We have created a video…
