Shelter Volunteers Sit In Empty Cages To Celebrate Record-Breaking 800 Pets Adopted!

Kansas City Pet Project held an adoption event in Kansas City, Missouri, with Great Plains SPCA and Wayside Waifs. During the event, all pet adoptions were $35 at all of their metro locations. Thousands of pets were there looking for their forever homes.

The Kansas City Mega Match adoption event shattered their previous record! A total of more than 800 pets were adopted! To celebrate, dozens of animal shelter volunteers sat in the empty cages to signify the adoption of all of these pets in need of better homes.

Gone are the days that these animals have to sit alone in their kennels. Now each and every one of them will get to enjoy the rest of their years as every pet should – loved and well taken care of!

This is extremely heart-warming, and just goes to show how important it is to adopt instead of shop! There are thousands upon thousands of shelter dogs out there searching for a loving home like yours!
