They Rescued Dogs From A Life Spent In Crates. When I Heard How Many Were Living In The House, OMG!
The Humane Society of Tulsa spent an entire day rescuing 70 dogs from a home in Bixby, Oklahoma. Although they all had names and most looked to be in good health, they had been living in small crates.
The intentions for these animals were good, but the living conditions and situation for the dogs were not. A couple at the home was housing dogs for rescue groups out of Oklahoma, Texas, Colorado and one that brings dogs back from Afghanistan. But the groups turned the dogs over to them without doing the proper checks on the couple.
Their rescue group wound up getting out of control. The couple was taking in animals, but not placing them in new homes. 70 dogs is a lot for one couple to properly take care of, which is why these pups spent all of their time in crates. The Humane Society will now take care of these dogs and will find them all loving furever homes.
This rescue came a week after they took in 58 Chihuahuas. Because they have been making many big rescues lately, they need all the support they can get. Cash donations can be made online at TulsaPets.com. Donations may be dropped off at the Emergency Shelter at 13290 South 80th East Avenue in Bixby. They are in need of:
Stainless Steel Food & Water Bowls, Dog Food & Treats, New or Gently Used Bath Towels, Dog Collars, Cleaning Supplies including Paper Towels, Dish and Laundry Soap, Bleach Wipes, and Bottled Water for Volunteers. The Humane Society of Tulsa is located at at 6232 East 60th Street.
