1,500 Hens From An Egg Farm Were Freed From Their Cages. For The First Time Ever, They Are FREE.

Animal Place, a rescue organization that saves farmed animals from slaughter and provides them with permanent sanctuary or homes, rescued 1,500 hens from an egg farm in southern California. They have spent their lives in small wire metal cages and never knew what it felt like to fly or be free.

Now they do! Watch the video below of the staff at Animal Place opening all of the crates, letting the hens get a taste of sweet freedom. They all seem so happy and relieved to finally be able to fly for the first time ever, instead of being crammed in cages. Now they will spend their days at Animal Place’s 600-acre sanctuary in Grass Valley, California.
