He Was Rescued From The Horrors Of The Yulin Dog Meat Farm. Now, He’s Getting A New Lease On Life!Ashley Maisano
Waldo was rescued from the terrors of the South Korean Yulin dog meat farm in April. He was badly treated, emaciated and weak, and would have eventually ended up butchered for his meat. When rescuers got to him, he was so skinny that his ribs were showing through his coat. He had sores on his legs and his eye was extremely infected.
Aside from physically being in bad shape, it looked like he felt it, too. His body language was that of a dog who had never felt love a day in his life. He was hunched over, his tail was between his legs, and he looked extremely unhappy.
Humane Society International’s Emergency Placement Partner, Mastiffs to Mutts Rescue in Pennsylvania, took Waldo in and rehabilitated him back to health.
Now, he is happy and healthy and enjoying life with his foster family in Virginia. He went from being kept in a tiny cage with nowhere to move, to being able to run around and play on a huge horse farm. He has gained back all of the proper weight, and his eye is no longer infected.
Not only that, but he is much happier! He now wags his tail like a dog should, instead of keeping it between his legs. Now that he is healthy, his personality is starting to come out. Waldo has a very playful, goofy personality and even plays with the other animals on the farm. The second he arrived at the farm, he had admired the horses from afar; then one day, he finally got to be up close and personal with them! They gave each other nudges and kisses and it was such a sweet moment!
Waldo is now up for adoption and searching for his furever home. If you, or anyone you know, is interested, please fill out an adoption application on their website.
