Vet Calms Nervous Dogs By Serenading Them With His Guitar While They Wait For Their Appointments

Ross Henderson is a veterinarian at Fox Hollow Animal Hospital in Lakewood, Colorado. When he isn’t taking care of animals, he’s playing the guitar as a part-time musician. But he found a very special way to bring both of his jobs together.

He brings his guitar to the vet office, and serenades animal patients there to help calm their anxiety while they wait for their appointments. He lays down next to them and plays his guitar, while the dogs (and cats) lie next to him, and sometimes even on his lap.

Earlier this week, he played his guitar for a dog named Ruby who seemed very nervous. While he belted out Elvis’ “Can’t help falling in love,” the anxious pup curled up on his lap and seemed to feel much better.

I always listen to soothing music to help me fall asleep if I’m tossing and turning, and I also like to listen to it when I’m feeling upset or anxious as well. It definitely helps calm me down, and by the looks of it, it helps calm these dogs down too!

Dr. Henderson has a heart of gold, and it’s so heart-warming to see him playing his guitar to help his doggy patients feel better! Watch more adorable serenades in the video below:
