Blind And Deaf Tiny Puppy Rescued From Hoarding Situation Is So Much Happier NowAshley Maisano
This tiny adorable doxie chihuahua mix, now named Piglet, was rescued from a horrible hoarding situation in Georgia along with his mother and three litter mates. The situation made him develop bad anxiety. He was always in hiding places, and didn’t like to be around people.
He was rejected by his mom so the rescue bottle-fed him for a few weeks. Two of his three littler mates were affected as he is with hearing and vision deficits as a result of irresponsibly breeding two dapple patterned dogs.
This past March, he went to live in a foster home in Connecticut. Although he is blind, he soon realized that he is able to see big dark objects in front of him, which gave him a newfound confidence.
In his foster home, he was able to quickly learn his way around. He was potty-trained, crate-trained, and ate his meals all on his own. He still has anxiety when left alone, but he has his doggy siblings to keep him company.
You would never guess just by looking at him that he can’t see or hear. He’s just like any other puppy – feisty, playful, and energetic. Besides being with his doggy foster siblings, he also loves to chew shoes, run around in the backyard, and go for walks in the neighborhood.
“Piglet is a survivor on a mission to educate the public about the consequences of double dapple breeding, backyard breeding, and puppy mills, as well as to encourage adoption of special needs animals,” his Facebook page states. “Piglet is an inspiration to all who have met him both in person as well as through social media.”
