Your cat deserves to listen to good music too! At least, that is what American cellist and music researcher, David Teie thinks. His latest project has been working on a music album especially for felines. “Music For Cats” will hit the market on October 28. Teie says there may be many critics that think this album is silly, but he believes that every species deserves to enjoy the power of music.

“If you really look into it, what’s silly is the idea that only one species could have music available for it,” Teie told The Guardian. “It is the biggest challenge with this, people think it is silly. But I think it is the way the brain works . If I look at a door and say that’s a fish, you are going to say that’s a door . Everybody knows what music is – and animals are not included. If you really look into it, what’s silly is the idea that only one species could have music available for it.”

Teie has done extensive research on how music can affect animals and he says his findings show that it can have noticeable effects on their mood. It can even help a nervous or neurotic animal become calm.

Teie has plenty of supporters as shown by the tremendous success of his Kickstarter campaign for the album. After raising more than $200,000, the album was quickly snagged by Universal Records.
