Kelly frantically reported it to her local news station and posted “missing dog” flyers all over her neighborhood, hoping and praying that someone would soon return her beloved pup.

It turns out that a family in the area had found Tabitha and took her in to keep her safe. They were watching TV, when the news station aired the story about Tabitha being lost. As soon as Tabitha saw and heard her owners on TV saying her name, she perked up and made it very obvious to the family that Tabitha was the Schaefer’s missing dog.

“She loves watching TV. When we turn it on, she always comes running in to see what’s going on, which is good because that’s probably why she saw us,” Schaefer told The Dodo.

The family contacted the news station immediately and soon after, Tabitha was finally reunited with her hoo-mans. What a happy ending!

Kelly says Tabitha is a vital aspect to her husband’s health. She says the pup helps him remember things and motivates him to be active.
