These Owners Will Try Anything To Give Their Pup A Better Life… And I Mean Anything!

These humans love their nine dogs very much and will do anything for their pups. So it’s no surprise that they were absolutely devastated when they learned that one of their beloved pups, Gremlin, had developed cataracts at the age of 11. Wanting to help Gremlin in any way that they could, her owner, Mariesa Hughes, decided to see what the veterinarian could offer. It was eventually decided that Gremlin would have surgery to correct the cataracts in an attempt to give Gremlin her quality of life back. The attempt was, sadly, in vain.

After the surgery, Gremlin developed glaucoma, which in turn, led to her completely losing all vision in her right eye. And while Gremlin still maintained the use of her left eye, her quality of vision was poor. She could only see distance with her left eye, which led to her having difficulty with easy tasks that she had no problems with before. She was unable to walk without bumping into things and was even having difficulty eating. Gremlin’s energetic spirit was starting to suffer. Wanting to do something to help their precious pooch, the Hughes began exploring their options. Their silver lining came in an unlikely form… contact lenses!

Their veterinarian made the suggestion of getting Gremlin contact lenses, and willing to try just about anything, the Hughes jumped on that idea. Surprisingly, it worked! With the use of contacts, Gremlin is able to see much better out of her left eye than she has been for a while. She has regained both her quality of life and her happy personality.
