A Great Dane, named Duke, went missing from owner Julio Gascon’s backyard in Oklahoma City in December of 2013. He searched everywhere for him for months, but to no avail.

Gascon and his brother Sam brought Duke home in 2012 when he was just eight weeks old. He’s a very goofy, fun and loving dog, and the two of them had a very special bond, so when he disappeared on Christmas Eve, Gascon was absolutely heartbroken.

But three years later, on March 3rd, a man named David Walker walked out onto his ranch in Navasota, Texas and spotted the giant Great Dane. Since the pup was friendly, he took him to the vet to check for a microchip. Luckily, he had one, and found out that the dog was Duke and had been missing from Oklahoma City for the past two years.

They called Gascon right away to let him know they found his dog. Shocked and surprised, Gascon and his brother got in their truck and drove 350 miles to reunite with Duke. The same pickup truck that Gascon picked Duke up in as a puppy, was now the same truck he was picking him up in to take him home.

The reunion was everything you’d expect it to be. “It was very emotional, but it felt very heartwarming to know that he remembered me and remembered my brother. Just his reaction alone was priceless to me,” Gascon told OKC Fox.
