A dog named Georgia came to Best Friends Animal Society’s Pet Adoption Center in Mission Hills from a shelter in Los Angeles. She had sadly been hit by a car and needed extensive medical care as soon as possible.

She unfortunately had to have her eye removed and get treated for other injuries as well. But Georgia never lost her sweet and positive spirit.

Everyone who met her, fell in love with her right away. She was such a friendly pup who had suffered through a lot in her life.

Georgia eventually made a full recovery and was ready for her new life. She was put up for adoption and ready to not only receive love, but to give it as well.

Luckily, Georgia didn’t have to wait long. A loving family adopted her soon after! The Mendiola family loved Georgia since the moment they saw her, and knew she’d fit in perfectly with their family.

Georgia may have lost her eye but she gained a lot of people who will always love her unconditionally. She went from an injured stray dog to a beautiful special needs pup.

A big thanks to Best Friends Animal Society for helping this dog recover and find a home. Best Friends is an animal welfare organization dedicated to ending the killing of dogs and cats in shelters across the country. They have helped reduce the number of animals killed in shelters nationwide from 17 million to two million. But sadly there are still thousands of animals killed in shelters every day. You can do your part by fostering these animals and getting them out of the shelters, or even adopting!
