Dog And Cat Siblings Were Separated At A Shelter. When They’re Reunited? Endless Tail Wags!

A dog and four cats were brought to DeKalb County Animal Services in Georgia after their owner passed away. They were covered in fleas and were not in good shape. When they arrived at the shelter, they brought the cats to a special cat area, while the dog, who was extremely emaciated, was kept inside the shelter’s foster office.

Because he was in the worst shape of them all, they knew it would be best to keep him separately with them.Days later, the shelter’s foster coordinator, Brandi Crabtree, took the dog, who they nicknamed Flearoy, out to play. When they walked by the cat room, he got extremely excited. He led her right up to the cage where his cat siblings were, and he was visibly happy to see them.

Three of the four cats were adopted shortly after, but the fourth kitty, Andie, was still at the vet clinic being treated. When she was healthy again, they were carrying her back to the cat room, and then she saw her doggy brother.

“They both just lit up and Flearoy started licking Andie and wagging his tail so hard that his whole butt wiggled,” Karen Hirsch of LifeLine Animal Project, which manages Delkalb County Animal Serves, told The Dodo. “Andie began licking him back and purring.”

After this adorable reunion, the shelter knew they couldn’t keep the two of them apart anymore so they let them stay together in the office. They play and snuggle with each other, and they are inseparable. Luckily, they were both adopted! The best part? They were adopted together! A woman named Ali Carter, who already had a dog of her own, adopted both of them. They adjusted to their new life quickly and are doing great!
