Mary Tyler Moore’s Love For Animals Helped This Puppy Find His Human Soulmate

Broadway Barks is an animal advocate event founded 18 years ago by actress Bernadette Peters and the late Mary Tyler Moore. It is held in Shubert Alley in New York City and has helped thousands of dogs find loving homes over the years.

One of those dogs was Tyler (named after Mary Tyler Moore), who was adopted in 2011 by Tony Sestito when he was just a puppy. Sestito adopted him from a shelter through Broadway Barks. As soon as he and Tyler looked into each other’s eyes, Sestito knew it was meant to be. Sestito had just lost his beloved Boxer a few months earlier, and he knew he needed a new dog to help fill that void. Tyler not only filled that void, but he filled him with so much more love than he ever expected. Six years later, they are still the best of friends! Listen to their story in the video below:
