A Pit bull named Brinks, who was 11 months old at the time, spent his days wandering the streets of Brooklyn as a stray. A man named Jon was in the area walking his dog, Demo, when Brinks approached them. Jon was worried at first, not knowing how his dog would react to Brinks, but the two wound up getting along great.

He took Brinks in to try and find his owners by posting flyers and checking lost dog reports, but had no luck. After a month had passed with no one claiming him, Jon decided to adopt Brinks. Now, 12 years later, Brinks still can’t stop smiling! He is a very happy dog and as had an amazing life with Jon.

“The most amazing thing is how Brinks grins like a human frequently in response to situations he enjoys, especially in the house. He smiles for treats, he smiles when you greet him in the morning and when he’s sleeping. He grins when he rides in the car, when he lies in the sun (or in front of the fire) and whenever he generally seems happy,” Jon said. And it seems like he is extremely happy all the time!
