They Found A Dog Wandering The Streets After A Flood. When They Discovered THIS On Him, OMG!Ashley Maisano
Imgur user itsarave recently posted pictures online to share the story of Bran, a beautiful Golden Retriever. After a horrible flood in Atlanta, Georgia, a family spotted Bran by himself. “He was just sitting by a mailbox in the rain, looking pathetic,” the post says. “I pulled over and called him to me, he immediately came, wagging his tail.”
It was believed that he had been living in the woods for months, and could have possibly escaped an animal-hoarding situation. Although he seemed happy and as sweet as can be, he was not in good shape. He was malnourished, extremely dirty, and covered in ticks and fleas. They brought him to the vet and learned that he also had worms–hookworm, ringworm, and heart worm.
Two to three days later, they had pulled more than 200 ticks off the poor pup. He was also on treatment for all of the worms, and well on his way to recovery. His fur was so hard to clean because of how matted it was, so they had to clip him before they bathed him.
The family who found him near the mailbox wound up adopting him! Coincidentally, they already had another Golden Retriever at home, named Addie, and the two of them bonded instantly.
Bran had to be kept separate from the other dog until his worms were completely gone. He also had to wear a cone collar while his ringworm healed.
Once he was completely healed and fully recovered, the cone got to come off and he was able to be with Addie. They loved playing together, and especially snuggling!
Fast forward six months, and Bran is doing great! He is very healthy and has gained back all of his weight. He’s free of all those ticks and worms and will now always be well-taken care of. The vets estimate he’s just under a year old, so he has a long life ahead of him!
