They Took Him In As A Cub. 12 Years Later, Look At Who His Friends Are!

Lions and tigers and bears…oh m…wait never mind, nothing to be afraid of here! An American black bear named Baloo, an African lion named Leo, and a Bengal tiger named Shere Khan, have been best friends for the past 15 years and reside at Noah’s Ark Animal Sanctuary in Locust Grove, Georgia. The trio of BFFs is known as the BLT around the rescue center. They are inseparable and even share living quarters, which is usually dangerous to place different powerful species together, but these three are an exception since they have grown up together for so long. There enclosure is three acres, yet they always stay within 100 feet of each other.

There incredible bond might have something to do with the traumatic past that the three have shared. They were rescued from a drug dealer’s basement in Atlanta and all had very severe injuries, including various internal and external parasites. Baloo the bear was found strapped to a harness that had not been loosened as he grew, causing it to grow into his skin; it had to be surgically removed during the rescue.
