Asoka, a baby orphan orangutan was rescued from the forest after a man heard him crying all alone. His rescuer kept him for a month and then brought him to the International Animal Rescueâ€™s sanctuary and rehabilitation center in West Kalimantan, Indonesia. The orangutan was only four months old and weighed just four-and-a-half pounds.
Asoka is healthy and growing daily, now that he is getting the love and care that he needs. Heâ€™s learning how to do things on his own, and has just mastered his tree-climbing skills for the first time! The woman put him on a rope and eventually he found his balance and started to climb his way up. He has the most innocent look on his face and heâ€™s so stinkinâ€™ adorable! After living at IAR for a while, he will learn how to live in the wild where he belongs.
